Having just migrated our tech platform, we have ambitious plans to scale and are looking for people excited by our mission to bring best-in-class theatre to the world. With continued private-equity investment and with a rapidly growing team, we are recruiting a Product Manager to coordinate the technical delivery of our innovation pipeline.

Job Description

Acting as an “intrapreneurial” start-up within the much larger Digital Theatre EdTech umbrella, the Consumer division is looking for someone to lead the design, development and deployment of innovative solutions, working closely with the General Manager and our external partners. We’re looking for someone with the vision and mindset to grow with the role as the company scales, and may attract someone who in time could become a CTO.

In the role you will:

  • Be responsible for the product functionality and user experience across our web and expanding app platforms

  • Manage the technical relationship with our 3rd party white-label platform provider, distribution and integration partners

  • Develop the end-to-end technical architecture required to support an ambitious scaling plan

  • Optimise our platform user experience by working cross-functionally with production, marketing, customer services and external partners

  • Help mould our long-term ambitions to be leading the field technically and artistically

  • Analyse data, spot problems and devise solutions


In this wide-ranging role, we are primarily looking for a Technologist first with these additional skills:

  • Delivers high quality technical projects on time and to budget

  • Ability to understand the technical complexities of multi-tiered web solutions and systems integration, their underlying technologies and the latest technical tools

  • Ability to gather requirements and break them down into the technical tasks required to complete a project phase

  • Ability to plan delivery in iterative sprints, inclusive of quality assurance sign-off in a platform-agnostic environment

  • Ability to recognise risk and plan to mitigate

  • Strive to learn new skills and stay abreast of technical developments, successfully applying them to work practices

Qualifications

Desirable (but not essential) experience:

  • Experience of Video on Demand or content management platforms

  • A familiarity of the performing arts sector

  • Experience of working in a start-up or other fast-paced environment

  • Enjoy cultivating relationships with diverse personalities ranging from creatives to technicians 

  • Enjoy working in situations of high ambiguity

  • Advocate for improvements to processes, quality, and security

  • Analytical and positive mindset with a personable and professional approach

  • Sharp attention to detail and a passion for new technology

  • Contribute to the ideation process and be proactive in proposing technical solutions to needs that other disciplines may not be aware of
