My life was changed in the blink of an eye. All I can remember is coming home from work one day and the rest was blank. I woke up in a hospital and had no recollection of how or why I got there. The police visited me later that day and told me that I was hit by a drunk driver. The doctor told me I had fractured my C3 and C7 spinal cord and that I had a 50% chance of regaining my motor functions ever again. I had to wear a Halo for a year (a metal device that is placed on your head and shoulders, then drilled into your skull to allow your neck fracture to heal).
While being bedridden for that year, I lost my business, fiancé, car, and pretty much everything else I spent a lifetime achieving up to that point. I couldn't do any of the things I had grown to know and love because of my current state, so I had to rethink my entire life and goals.
I was a former general contractor, building log homes for a living. I lost everything and didn't know what to do, but knew I had to do something. Since I couldn't move around that much or do anything physically productive, I dove head first into my laptop looking for ideas. I was concerned about how I was going to make a living if I became a paraplegic after depending on manual labor my whole life.
My remote work journey began in a hospital with a lot of time and faith to work with. I started off by just taking surveys and watching YouTube videos on how to make money online. I spent entirely too much money and time on "get rich online" scams just to end up learning everything I needed to know on my own anyway.
I literally didn't have any money left after hospital bills, so I started my journey by just making a couple of dollars a day doing random work online such as surveys and product testing. Every penny I made was reinvested into making more. I began seeing light at the end of the tunnel once I was making about $10 a day which was not really anywhere near what I wanted to be making, so I buckled down and started absorbing all the knowledge I could on how people were "truly" making millions from nothing.
I turned $10 a day into $100 a day then $500, all by making smart investments and utilizing passive income by stacking it. This all took place from having nothing but a loving mother and ambition. I was blessed to have my mom take care of me while I was healing and rebuilding my life, so I didn't have any other bills outside of hospital costs. I am truly living the dream now! I have financial freedom and can work from anywhere in the world. I made a full recovery and run circles around my friends now. When you are at rock bottom and all hope seems lost, believe in yourself and surround yourself with good people. The greatest miracles happen in the darkest of circumstances if you keep the faith and keep moving forward!
Freedom, self-dependence, and safety from COVID-19.
There are no disadvantages to remote work in my opinion, but I can mainly say this because I did hard manual labor for over 20 years of my life. I can see how isolating yourself with remote work can have a negative impact on social skills, but this does not bother me one bit. The pros absolutely outweigh the cons in the remote work lifestyle.
I haven't traveled outside the country yet but will be doing that as soon as this virus gets under control. I frequent and love Austin, Texas. The silicon valley 2 of the nation. My favorite cities I've been to are L.A., Chicago, Tulsa, Denver, Atlanta, and the list goes on. I went to these places to experience the culture and not because I needed to do so for work.

When I really need to spend time and effort with my online business, there is no place like home. I love working from home because most of my technology and computer systems aren't mobile capable. This only takes up about 1-3 days out of the month though, so the other 3 weeks I can travel as I please if I want.
Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, New York, Scotland, Sydney, and Greenland.
Honestly, the biggest challenge at first was time management and patience. after 2 years of reinvesting 60% of my income, my productivity really grew so that I could branch off into learning about other investing opportunities. The best tip I can give you is to realize that even making only $0.50 a day can turn into $500 a day if you make smart and informed decisions with your money. Do not spend money recklessly if you want to make life-changing money in the future. Be patient and be smart about your investments. Knowledge is everything and we live in the information age, so there is no excuse why you can't learn everything you need to know about whatever it is you are passionate about doing.
I utilize my own knowledge of softwares and other technologies in order to be as efficient as possible with my business.

Always make sure you remember to work... It's easy to get caught up in beautiful environments and cultures and forget about the very important "work" part of working remotely. Set a budget and stick to it no matter what. Make achievable goals and itinerary's that you follow on a daily basis. Never make money your only focus... There is more importance to life than your financial standing. Be compassionate, understanding, and considerate to everyone you know and meet. Be the change you want to see in the world and try to leave a low carbon footprint everywhere you go.
I can honestly say that everything I do is a kind of side project. I don't have one particular work focus.
Average $500 a day
While working remotely, I have had the opportunity to engage in some pretty wild activities and experiences. I got a wildlife rehabilitation permit and raised an abandoned baby deer I fell in love with. I learned how to sail and started building a sustainable sailboat to work remotely on. I lived in Alamosa, which has the coldest valley in the country, and ruined my laptop because I was out in -12 degree temperatures not realizing the effect it would have on my technology. I learned to scuba dive, went hiking, horseback riding, flew in a private jet, etc. There are so many interesting stories I could tell you that happened while working remotely and I encourage everyone to try new things while being away from your home base.
