What’s your profession, what do you do?

I am a CIMA qualified Freelance Accountant in profession, working for Convert.com as Head of Finance & Operations. Also the Founder of the "The Freelance Accountant" an accounting firm.

What company do you work for? Are you a freelancer or Digital Nomad?

How did you start with a remote work journey?

I was working in a typical cooperate 9-5 job when I started my side hustle on Upwork as a Freelancer, then I met Convert.com a 100% remote company with individuals from around 18 different countries. It was a life changing moment for me and I decide to go full-time freelancer pre-pandemic which helped me be resilient in facing the pandemic situation.

What do you think are the main benefits of working remotely?

No commuting, I use to travel over 4 hours back and forth to one of my previous employers. More work life balance with more flexibility in work times and freedom to travel when there was no pandemic restrictions.

Do you think there are disadvantages or that you’re missing something by working remotely?

I miss the physical meet ups with my co-workers, in 2019, I met the Convert.com gang in Bali, Indonesia, it was company sponsored retreat.
