Global trade still largely runs on a messy chain of emails and excel files. Trillions of dollars of trade essentially run on a platform called email. Shipsy is there to solve this problem. Shipsy's SaaS-based platform helps businesses manage all aspects of international trade - working with vendors to procure rates for shipping, having a digital workflow management platform to complete all documentation related activities, integrations with global shipping lines to bring about an end to end visibility, and reducing invoicing errors through smart AI-based reconciliation. ~10% of India's global trade through its platform, thereby helping 5 of the top 10 exporters and importers reduce costs and get end-to-end shipment visibility. With roots growing in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, Shipsy is quickly becoming the de-facto platform to manage international trade.

Shipsy has recently raised investment from Sequoia Capital's Surge and Info Edge (~$8m, till date).

Our team is comprised of excellent individuals from top institutes across the country like IITs, IIITs, NITs with experience in Big Data, Software Architecture, ML, AI, Robotics, Blockchain. In combination, we have previously worked at Samsung Korea, MIT Media Labs, CMU Robotics, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Samsung Research, GE Research, Qualcomm Research, etc., and have also been entrepreneurs. We have numerous research publications and patents. The core team has computer scientists, electrical engineers from IIT Delhi and Madras, and this core tech focus would contribute tremendously to your learning.
 

    Job Description

    The startup industry in India is growing at a breakneck pace. The efforts of the last few years are starting to show with companies going for IPO this year. 

    The industry is growing phenomenally and post the pandemic seen a meteoric rise is the "SaaS" or "Software As A Service" industry. The pandemic has pushed enterprises around the world to embrace technology with 3-year plans changing to 3 months! There is just so much work in enterprises that still happens on excel sheets / emails / calls, and so much legacy code that has to be replaced by new-age SaaS. 

    This role in your entry into the Product world. This essentially entails understanding the product, the customer, and putting your best problem-solving abilities to solve problems for the customers through a product-first approach.

    We're building the global platform at Shipsy, with a long-term vision to be the market leader powering a vast chunk of operations across the world.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Collaborate with a team of product managers, directors, and related personnel.
    • Product lifecycle management from concept to phasing out of the product(s) across all products/product lines.
    • Work closely with our customers and understand their pain points. Being a advocate for the customer internally.
    • Measuring and monitoring the product or service performance as well as presenting product-related consumer, market, and competitive intelligence
    • Assess product development and enhancement opportunities
    • Conduct competitive research and technology assessments
    • Evaluate and establish program priorities in line with business objectives
    • Influence business and industry practices by driving innovative ideas, solutions, and products through leadership and decisive action
    • Act as point of the first reference for all product-related inquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues to address any issues that may arise
    • Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions. 
    • Data modeling on the products of the business as well as of the target markets in order to bring about an understanding of the relations between the product and the target market.
    • Ensures proper data point is being tracked to keep a check on the health of the product and business
