Seeking Experienced Freight Forwarder

MGF (Manitoulin Global Forwarding) is your specialist for international shipping with the proven experience and knowledge to provide optimal routing, accurate documentation and local knowledge.

MGF serves as the international freight arm for the Manitoulin Group of Companies.  

 Today we are Cargo Architects, focused on building customized, end-to-end supply chain solutions for moves around the corner or around the globe.  

• Quote existing and prospective customers
• Following up with all customers directly regarding rate requests, increases, claims, and concerns
• Book shipments with carriers, track the shipment and following up to ensure delivery
• Negotiate rates with vendors
• Create files for each shipment on Manitoulin’s system
• Note that this is a team position with colleague coverage required due to others’ absence.

• Previous Freight Forwarding Experience a large asset
• Previous Data Entry experience an asset
• CIFFA/ Air / Ocean DG certifications an asset
• Prepare and work with online programs, airline and trucking sites and Cargowise program.
• Good communication skills including proficiency at listening and problem solving.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Must be flexible as job requires being able to deal effectively with changing circumstances, customer demands,
• last minute requests, deadlines and daily stress.
• Organized and able to manage time well.
• International supply chain management experience.
• Knowledge of customs and warehousing.
• Geography and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of other languages and cultures are an asset.
