How can you change it up?

This is a crucial role where you will be supporting the compliance activities at the point of contract award and throughout the lifecycle of major projects. As a CDM Specialist you will work closely with various teams across CityFibre including; Procurement, Compliance and Delivery as well as Architecture and Design. You will also be expected to work with externally appointed works contractors in matters relating to construction health and safety covered by the CDM 2015 Regulations.

Some of your other responsibilities will include: 

• Briefing all parties on their statutory duties under the CDM 2015 including delivery of CDM awareness training programme
• Coordinating the completion of Pre-Construction Information including liaison with client representatives and designers
• Attending client and project team meetings as appropriate to review and promote CDM 2015 compliance.
• Maintaining the CDM OneNote Intranet to ensure all delivery stakeholders have access to relevant CDM information
• Working with supply chain and procurement to ensure PQQ to On-boarding/CDM process is efficient and in line with internal ISO processes
• Supporting the 2nd line assurance programme across Network Build and Service Operations concerning SHEQ Contractor monitoring activities

What will you bring to the role?

We are looking for someone who has experience working as a CDM Advisor / Specialist or equivalent. For this role, it is essential that you have a good working knowledge of CDM 2015 and a pro-active approach to the delivery of the role. You will also be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills so that you can interact with people at all levels and across a wide stakeholder base. 

You will also need to have: 

• A NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• A driving license as well as a vehicle to travel with
• The ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks
• Coaching and mentoring skills 

It will also be beneficial to be a member of a professional body such as APS, IIRSM or IOSM, as well as be an internal or external auditor ( 14001, 18001, 9001 ) - but this is not essential.
