PostgreSQL DBA

CYBERTEC is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to join our team and maintain client database systems and/or be part of one of our client projects.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

• Become an active DBA team member to jointly support day to day database operations


• Troubleshoot database incidents


• Ensure databases are monitored and remain available and optimal


• Database maintenance - backup & recovery, maintaining replication and hot standby clusters using Patroni


• Database optimization - indexing, analyzing, bloat management, and vacuuming


• Database monitoring - actively monitor and react. Add new service checks


• Ticketing - organize, prioritize and service DBA related tickets within SLA


• Optimize existing queries, functions and enhance runtime performance


• Provide support in and out of working hours as part of a formal on-call support rotation


• Recommend improvements for existing operations with better tools and methodologies

Your Profile:

• Experience as PostgreSQL DBA is a plus


• Experience with PostgreSQL HA, backup & recovery, and replication methodologies & tools


• Experience with Patroni is a plus


• Good understanding & hands-on experience with Linux OS (Redhat, Debian & Ubuntu)


• Linux Shell scripting - ability to understand & write scripts in support of DBA-related tasks


• Python knowledge is a plus


• Knowledge of Database security principles


• Experience in performance tuning of host hardware & databases


• Ability to understand, write, diagnose, and optimize all qualities of SQL code


• ANSI SQL knowledge


• Strong problem-solving skills


• Experience with Docker and Ansible is a plus


• Good verbal and written communication skills

We are searching for a full-time employee (38,5 hrs). Salary will be determined based on professional experience; the formal minimum monthly salary according to collective agreement is EUR 2.556,- (for Junior level) gross.
