Job Description

The Director, Learning & Development is responsible for elevating the technical and soft skills of the sales organization via the design and delivery of purposeful training programs focused on improving organizational effectiveness, driving revenue, and exceeding business goals.

This leadership role will help to prepare the sales team for long term growth and success. The Director, Learning and Development will lead a team of Performance Consultants in developing and delivering effective training programs. As a key partner to leadership, this role is responsible for all elements of needs assessment, curriculum development, facilitation, tracking, and measurement.

 Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an integral part of the sales leadership team, making recommendations on strategy and approach to drive innovation and exceed organizational expectations
  • Conduct needs analysis to determine key performance/skill and knowledge gaps for sales management and sales representatives.  Develop and implement training programs based upon identified gaps
  • Create, design, and deliver comprehensive learning content leveraging adult learning principles for virtual, face to face, and just in time learning. Continually develop engaging and effective programs to meet the development and training needs of the organization
  • Measure program effectiveness/behavior change by implementing various measurement tools to demonstrate learner competence
  • Identify, create, and implement leadership development programs to drive performance, reinforce key sales behaviors and enhance management skill and execution
  • Manage budgets and administrative requirements related to curriculum development, training resources, and training program implementation
  • Hire, manage, and train additional training resources as needed to develop training programs for Employer Services
  • Identify, select, and manage vendors for curriculum design/development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, instructional design, or human resources business administration
  • At least ten years in a corporate/enterprise setting in a training and development leadership role
  • At least five years sales and/or sales management experience
  • Experience creating and delivering training in areas of sales performance, coaching, employee/team development, and change management
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated team player behavior; plays well with others and drama free
  • Comfortable and credible presenting before groups in any setting
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels within the organization; ability to translate and articulate complex methodologies and processes into action
  • Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change; ability to influence decisions and drive behavior/organizational change with internal stakeholders
