JOB SUMMARY

  A DevOps Engineer is a problem solver who collaborates at the enterprise level. Analyzes virtualization or cloud-based models and designs, creates, modifies as well as supports a set of complex systems processes or operations that enable business capabilities. 

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Candidate will be required to serve in a “matrixed, on-call rotation role supporting legacy storage, backup, virtualized on-prem cloud environments (OpenStack) while also supporting new DevOps initiatives in the cloud-based AWS environment.

•   Will be required to serve in a 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to production outages and critical deliverables on nights and weekends.

•   Delivers personal tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroup 15%

•   Participates on initiatives with deliverables and meets quality standards on time 15%

•   Leads cross-functional initiatives with deliverables and meets quality standards on time 15%

•   Creates Application and System Design Documents 25%

•   Estimates component/application system level and enterprise solution work efforts 10%

•   Designs Develops and Implements Complex Business Rules 5%

•   Responsible for fulfilling end-user requests. Provides on call support as required. Periodically provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individuals. Routinely operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads 10%

EDUCATION

•   Bachelors of Computer Science or IT-Security required plus the following experience

EXPERIENCE

•   AWS Cloud Practitioner or other AWS Certifications

•   10 years’ experience in Networking

•   5 years’ experience in Storage

•   7 years’ experience Disaster Recovery of Geographically-separated data centers

•   3 years’ experience in Virtualization/On-prem cloud (OpenStack)

•   7years’ experience Unix Server Administration

•   5 years experience  Backup/Recovery

•   7 years experience ITIL/Change Management

•   7 years experience Windows Server Administration

•   Current or prior top-security clearance a plus

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

•   Technically proficient in application/component system or enterprise solution

•   Excellent communication and facilitation skills

  Communicates directly with internal and external customers.
