Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on QA professional who can help drive automation across applications with various technologies like Web Applications, Big Data, Micro Services, and RESTful web API. You will own the test automation infrastructure, with a goal of stability, reliability, and clear reporting across all applications. You will work closely with software developers and product owners to understand the product features and technical implementations as well as work with other QA engineers to create the testing strategy, identify components for automation, design, write and execute the test cases. The ideal candidate should be well-rounded, self-motivated, experienced with multiple technologies and frameworks, and enjoy fast-paced development cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to build a new test automation framework or extend the existing framework by working with QA subject matter experts to design and develop a reusable architecture for the test automation
  • Review product requirements, functional and design specifications to determine and prepare automated test cases
  • Execute regression tests using the automated test scripts
  • Maintain existing automated test cases by regularly retrofitting the scripts with the latest updates to the application
  • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipeline
  • Create metrics around automation to measure the performance of the automated testing process
  • Design and develop the automated solution for sanity testing for various repeatable tests
  • Perform exploratory functional testing, performance testing and security testing
  • Report defects, prioritize their severity and ensure resolution of critical defects prior to release
  • Work in an agile environment collaborating with multiple scrum teams to gather and review test requirements
  • ·Provide accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration and work effort, along with confidence level, and foreseeable dependencies
  • Work with offshore teams with multiple time zones to co-ordinate various testing activities
  • Recommend new testing tools and provide guidance and expertise in their use and training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in software testing
  • 5+ years’ experience in test automation
  • Experience setting up and implementing test automation in Robot Framework and UFT
  • Experience in python programming
  • Experience in developing test plans and test scenarios. Develop and maintain test cases.
  • Experience in testing Micro services and Web services applications
  • Experience in testing Hadoop / Bigdata applications covering HBase, HDFS, Hive, Spark, Kafka
  • Strong knowledge in RESTful Web API framework using Postman
  • Experience in working with NoSQL databases like Mongo DB
  • Experience working in agile/scrum product development environment
  • Experience in version control/source control management tool like bitbucket and GitHub
  • Experience in CICD pipeline and build tools – Jenkins
  • Experience with Performance testing tools like Loadrunner or JMeter.
  • Experience with JIRA or other project management, issue-tracking or bug-tracking tools
  • Experience with Java, and/or Javascript a plus
  • Natural curiosity, critical thinker, strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ·Self-motivation and an ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
