Research Intern : Cryptography & Security

BlockDeliver is a fully distributed, secure, peer-assisted content distribution system. It is a global, reliable, and adaptable network for web content delivery that combines the resources of a global network of caches. BlockDeliver uses a resource-backed cryptocurrency framework that enables to set up an open marketplace for even mutually untrusted participants to exchange coins with bandwidth, and vice -versa. The BlockDeliver ecosystem allows any internet user to join the network and act as a CDN cache in exchange for monetary rewards.

Content Delivery Networks, or CDNs, are the  backbone of the Internet in charge of content delivery. Whether we know it or not, most of the websites we browse daily are hosted on CDNs; when reading articles on news sites, shopping online, watching YouTube videos or perusing social media feeds. 

BlockDeliver is building the next-generation distributed content delivery network(CDN) and one of its kind "Decentralized ecosystem for content distribution”.

Job Description

We're looking for people willing to engage in research in the areas of applied cryptography and system security. Interest & exposure to blockchain technology would be a plus but not mandatory. 

For this position, candidates in senior year of MS / junior Ph.D. / final year B.Tech/M.Tech students with a willingness to do research will be preferred.

In Cryptography, the work will focus on such areas as secure multiparty computations, obfuscation and foundational research. In security, the focus will be on tracking high-fidelity and fine-grained provenance information in distributed systems for attack mitigation and preserving security and privacy in distributed systems. The project has a focus on balancing security and performance in a distributed decentralized content delivery system.

Job Responsibilities 

• Design novel solutions for problems specific to the BlockDeliver ecosystem, provide strong reasoning behind the proposed solution and experimentally verify the correctness of the solution.

• The person should be able to communicate clearly their studies, both in writing and verbally to the team and be able to work in a collaborative environment. Similarly the person should also be able to critique the ideas of their teammates with appropriate reasoning.

• The intern is also expected to stay updated about the latest research and developments in the areas of interest to BlockDeliver and to be able to understand the position of BlockDeliver with respect to the same, by conducting comprehensive literature surveys.

• The person should be able to come up with original ideas and take up the responsibility of collaborating with other teammates.

Will consider senior MS / junior Ph.D. / final year M.Tech students with a willingness to do research.

Preferred expertise in one of the following: 

• Cryptography / Applied cryptography / System security / Distributed system security
