Job Description

We, the Talent team, keep the pulse of the organization and continue to strengthen it from within by expanding the Shopify environment.

As a Senior Specialist, HR Technology you will be part of our Talent Technology team and primarily focus on Talent Acquisition technologies. You will collaborate with our Talent Acquisition team to manage and support projects related to technology enhancement and maintenance, process improvement, and support critical recruitment initiatives. At Shopify you won’t hear “because that’s just how we do it”, which means you will be constantly changing and evolving ideas looking for the best way to build for the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of different systems in order to increase efficiency (ie: SmartRecruiters, Workday, GEM) and support Talent Acquisition critical activities 

  • Collaborate to develop a solid Talent Acquisition Technology Strategy and Roadmap

  • Act as a technology subject matter expert to help support our recruitment team in their day to day activities, and long term vision

  • Optimize processes across the organization especially related to Talent Acquisition, Headcount planning, Automation, and Core HR

  • Consult and provide creative solutions and work proactively to simplify the complex

  • Manage and support technology projects in collaboration with other teams

  • Work with teams across Shopify to design and implement workflows that are creative and efficient

  • Be a day-to-day contact for the HR team and other groups in the organization

Please note, this is an 18 month contract position but with a high probability of becoming permanent at the end of the term.

Qualifications

  • Experience with different ATS and HRIS, preferably SmartRecruiters and Workday
  • Experience leading complex technology projects from design to delivery
  • Deep knowledge of best practices around HR processes, more specifically as it relates to recruitment
  • A passion for technology architecture and strong opinions on system process design
  • You lean into creative and innovative solution
  • Experience in the delivery of HR Solutions, change management activities, and communications in a global organization
  • A passion for efficiency and high attention to detail
  • Curiosity about business operations and excitement about automating mundane work
