About the project

The globally operating customer is a European leader in the field of sanitary products with around 12,000 employees in around 50 countries. As part of their strategy is also creating secure and easy-to-use internal applications. For this, the customer relies on our professional quality assurance services. 

The main project you will be part of consists of multiple SharePoint applications which the employees use on a daily basis, from the Marketing department to Production, Finance, and many others.

One project is an application that gathers data from all the production factories regarding their annual consumption of the company’s cars. This app includes forms to introduce information for each vehicle and annual costs for it, gathers this type of data per company, and creates reports that are ready to be exported and used in other departments.

Your team

You will be joining remotely an Agile team of four members: two developers, one project manager, and a product owner who applies Scrum methodologies within the software development life cycle.

    Job Description

    Your role

    • Review and test user stories
    • Estimate testing activities
    • Perform functional and non-functional testing
    • Investigate and report defects
    • Ensure high quality of the product, according to the provided requirements
    • Track & monitor reported issues until they are closed
    • Communicate with the development team and with your colleagues to provide a reliable, consistent, and positive end-user experience
    • Ensure that standard quality assurance principles and techniques are applied
    • Make sure that the appropriate quality criteria are initially defined and then fulfilled throughout all the project phases
    • Apply coverage analysis techniques to ensure that the project requirements are met
    • Maintain documentation throughout the QA process
    • Take important decisions in prioritizing one testing technique over another, taking into consideration time and access constraints, business context, and customer needs
    • Manifest a consultative approach and come up with recommendations based on your own experience
    • Define test cases, test plans, testing strategy, offer input for the release plan
    • Share knowledge with the team and communicate any blockers

    Community insights

    Within the Microsoft 365 App Development Competence Area, we design and build custom applications and extensions to wide-scale Microsoft Enterprise platforms such as SharePoint Online, Azure, Power Platform, Teams and Dynamics 365.

    Qualifications

    We're looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer having at least 2 years of experience in the manual testing area, who also has a consultancy approach in regards to testing strategy, release plan or any other improvements needed in the context of Quality Assurance.

    Technical Skills:

    • 2+ years of experience in manual software testing
    • Previous experience in working on web and/or desktop applications
    • Very good knowledge of quality assurance concepts, methodologies, tools, and processes
    • Experience with issue tracking tools (DevOps)
    • Ability to understand both business and functional architecture
    • Very good understanding and assessment of user requirements and the creation of simple and intuitive application features
    • Ability to work independently, know where testing and what testing level/type comes in place during the project life cycle
    • Experience in designing, creating, executing, and reporting clear, concise, and comprehensive manual test plans and test cases
    • Former experience in working in Agile environments, familiarity with SCRUM methodology
    • Ability to come up with improvement suggestions (process or product-related)

    • Very good communication skills, highly proficient in spoken and written English
    • Analytical mindset and troubleshooting skills

    • Team player
    • German is not mandatory, but highly welcome
