Shopify is the leading omni-channel commerce platform. Merchants use Shopify to design, set up, and manage their stores across multiple sales channels, including mobile, web, social media, marketplaces, brick-and-mortar locations, and pop-up shops. The platform also provides merchants with a powerful back-office and a single view of their business, from payments to shipping. The Shopify platform was engineered for reliability and scale, making enterprise-level technology available to businesses of all sizes. Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, Shopify currently powers over 1.7 million businesses in approximately 175 countries and is trusted by brands such as Allbirds, Gymshark, PepsiCo, Staples, and many more.
As a Senior Developer Advocate, you ensure that Shopify builds the most developer-friendly commerce platform in the world. We expect you to bring or develop a long-term industry vision in your area of responsibility and work with our product and engineering teams to shape the future of the platform. To do so, you will be the first to try things out, to build proofs of concept, and the first to figure out where things break. You will need to build solid relationships with our platform’s internal and external users and understand their challenges to represent them at every step of our platform’s development: you will act as the voice of developers. You will also understand the landscape of competing tools and products developers could choose as alternatives to Shopify and ensure we stay ahead. Finally, you will invest some of your time building and supporting developer tools, client libraries or anything else that you think could improve the developer experience in your area of expertise.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of commerce and positively impact the lives of developers, merchants, and shoppers around the world.
