Brainstorming topics to poll
Closely following news and commentary
Crafting clear, concise, fair survey questions
Writing about survey results for YouGov’s U.S. News website
Conceiving of and creating effective data visualizations
Analyzing poll data, including in programming languages such as R
Collaborating with colleagues and media partners
Contributing to distribution of findings through newsletters and social media

Professional experience and/or advanced degree in survey research or related field
Two years’ experience in writing survey questions
Experience analyzing data in programming languages such as R or other statistical tools and programming languages
Experience with creating data visualizations
Writing for a public audience
Commitment to rigor and accuracy
An interest in growing on the job in survey research, data science, and journalism
Comfort with collaborating, editing, and being edited
Creativity, empathy, and imagination
Applicant must be U.S. based
Nice to have
Professional experience and/or advanced degree in journalism
Professional experience and/or advanced degree in data science
Experience writing code in R
Experience with content management systems
Experience writing and distributing newsletters
Experience with social media and related tools such as SproutSocial
