Shopify Retail is an emerging division within Shopify, building the software and hardware that powers retail shops and in-person sellers. Our innovative products are changing the way in-person commerce is done, and our team is writing a new chapter in Shopify’s growth story. Our growing EMEA Retail Launch Consultants Team (also known as Launch Engineers globally) work with established and emerging retail brands as they begin working with Shopify Retail. Our mission is to help merchants through their launch journey, from their initial commitment to using Shopify Point of Sale (POS) all the way to getting those first customer purchases.
As a dedicated accountability partner to these merchants, you will work directly with retailers and their partners to provide resources and guidance to help them successfully launch with Shopify POS. This role is primarily a technical consultant with deep product expertise, and also parts account management and project management. As a subject matter expert on the Shopify Retail platform (POS, online, mobile, hardware), you’ll help to educate and share retail commerce best practice with merchants. Once a merchant is comfortable with their retail stack and using Shopify POS, you'll transition them to working directly with our Retail Support Team.

Responsibilities:
Become a subject matter expert on the Shopify Retail platform (POS, online, mobile, hardware) and the Partner & App Ecosystem
Ensure a fast, easy and satisfying onboarding experience for new merchants using Shopify POS; meeting monthly key performance indicators
Act as a primary point of contact for merchants to lead them from kick-off to making their first transactions. This will involve scoping and building a launch plan, and leveraging resources and teams to provide the best merchant experience
Build and lead tailored Retail training sessions, utilising resources and webinars, designed for business owners all the way to store staff
Become an expert generalist across the expanding Shopify platform and ecosystem; like Shopify Plus where we are making enterprise commerce simple
Share learnings and best practices with the rest of the Launch Team, constantly iterating and improving the merchant experience and internal processes

Native/bilingual or full professional proficiency in English
Native/bilingual or full professional proficiency in German or Spanish
Passion for commerce and delivering an exceptional customer experience
Deep commerce knowledge in UK
Project management and agile mindset. This is not a true project management role, but does share some skills with it, especially managing expectations and creating alignment. In some cases you'll be reviewing formal project outlines from merchants to confirm requirements for successful onboarding
Experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate problems, solutions and ideas, and comfortable with public speaking and facilitating training
Proficient with technology; ability and willingness to learn and explain Shopify POS, and retail-focused third-party applications from Shopify’s App Store
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work effectively under pressure to short timelines
Comfortable working from home in a company where everyone is a remote worker

Bonus experience:
First-hand experience onboarding merchants onto retail POS systems
Native/bilingual or full professional proficiency in one or more of these languages: French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish
Understanding of commerce best practices, including how to migrate merchants from other platforms
Experience working with Enterprise SaaS Applications
Understanding of technical strategy as it relates to operating and growing a commerce business
Running your own business. You know what it means to be an entrepreneur, and can empathise and share your learnings with our merchants
Building Shopify shops, either for yourself or clients
Experience working in an application ecosystem and integrating 3rd party technologies into the Shopify platform
