Senior Java Backend Developer

Founded by two partners of a private equity fund, DealCircle is about to change the market for M&A deals. Since its foundation in 2018, DealCircle has already been able to connect interested buyers in over 500 mergers and acquisitions with an enterprise value of almost four billion Euros.

Now we are on the threshold of scaling our business and are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our tech team and build the foundation of our future growth.

Responsibilities

• You will bring our internal products to the next level by developing top-notch backend applications that are instrumental in scaling our business processes
• You will maintain and develop new features for our existing website and end customer applications
• As a senior engineer, you will ensure quality and best practices and use state-of-the-art technologies
• As an expert, you will have a confident voice in the technical discussions
• As an experienced developer, you will be coaching less experienced developers as the team grows
• You are quality driven and strive for developing solid, performant and monitored systems

Skills & Experience required:

• 5+ years of experience in building in software engineering using various Java technologies
• You have a proven record in the backend development of dockerized micro-services architecture and REST APIs, using technologies like relational database, messaging middleware
• You have experience with Elasticsearch and search/recommendations problematics
• You have ideally experience with data pipeline importing multi-sources of data into a uniformized model
• As a bonus you have experience with PHP/Laravel
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience in another JVM-language, like Kotlin
  • Knowledge of other languages like JavaScript (node.js) or Go or Python
• You are familiar with Jira and Gitlab workflows
• You are experienced with cloud infrastructure (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
• You are experienced in working in an agile environment (Scrum/KanBan/ScrumBan)
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable work experience
• You are a communicative and collaborative team player
• You are fluent in English, spoken and written
