The mission of eCommerce Product Manager at VIVANT is to continuously improve our online store and redefine what an online wine shipping experience looks like. We believe that the world of wine shopping is ripe for change and we want to be at the forefront of that change.

You will collaborate with our business stakeholders to set the strategic direction, scope, and success metrics for eCommerce product initiatives. Working with a team of designers, software engineers, marketers and analysts, you will deliver an exceptional experience to all our users.  You will be responsible for implementing the product strategy, road mapping, and prioritisation, seeing the product through its entire lifecycle—from concept through to validation, build, post-launch analytics and iterations.

Responsibilities

1. Own product roadmap and backlog.  You understand business priorities and you know how you want the product to evolve over time. You can know your three upcoming releases by heart.

2. Lead the product discovery process.  You are accustomed to taking a napkin-sketch idea and fleshing it out with the right group of people until you all know what needs to be done. You are no stranger to wireframing, sketching and whiteboarding. 

3. Prepare work items for your team.  You know how to write clear user stories, break them down into smaller ones when necessary and explain the details to the engineering team. You are equally comfortable talking to designers and engineers.

4. Oversee product development. You continuously check in with your team and help them make the right decisions at every turning point. You know about any potential problems and issues early on and have a plan B ready in case the masterplan doesn’t work out.

5. Oversee post-launch product success. You know when we launch one story ends and another one begins. You are perfectly comfortable using Google Analytics or any analytics tool to get the insights you need and turn them into actions.

6. Align business expectations with engineering capability.  You have a strong understanding of the software development process and can work with your engineering team to produce accurate estimates, facilitating any negotiations in terms of scope or release dates.

• 3+ years of product management experience building and growing products at scale in a high-performance team (ideally a startup with eCommerce focus)

• Entrepreneurial mindset - you get excited about building high performing products and driving revenue through optimization and better customer experience

• Strong UX skill set - you understand more than just the fundamentals of good UX 

• Strong communication skills - you can speak the language of engineering, data, design, operations and can coordinate cross-functionally with each to achieve big wins.

• Great with data (both qualitative and quantitative) 

• Any engineering skills are a plus but not required
