Do you see the power in data and have you had plenty of hands-on experience analysing and abstracting insights from data? Have you worked with data technologies, are you curious, innovative and take pleasure in picking up new data tools and methods? Do you want to be part of Nets Analytical factory?

 

As a Data Scientist at the Nets Analytical Factory, you will be exposed to complex intellectual challenges, coupled with commercial applications across our various business lines within Merchant Services.

 

You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from early proofs-of-concept, over integrating data extraction processes into streamlined pipelines, to developing and deploying models in production environments for further operational refinement. You will work in an agile DevOps setup, and you will be exposed to a pan-European data landscape that includes modern multi-tenant cluster technologies.

Your professional skills and experience form most of your qualifications, but it’s also your personality that makes the difference at Nets. 

 

You probably bring:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in the data-intensive field like Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Social Sciences or similar
  • Relevant courses on applied mathematics, statistical modelling, algorithms, AI, ML, econometrics
  • +5 years of experience with data science in production environments
  • + 3 years of experience with Big Data frameworks like Hadoop, HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, etc.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Scala, Python, R
  • Mastery of ML algorithm classes for supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning: linear regression, PCA, SVM, trees ensembles, clustering, neural networks
  • Deep understanding and experience with ML algorithms to assess, combine and optimise towards best-fit cases
  • Experience with ML libraries: sklearn, nltk, GloVe, spacy, sparkML, keras, TensorFlow, Spark pipeline
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, visualization techniques and tools
  • Experience with scalable systems and performance tuning
  • Experience with distributed databases and key issues affecting performance and reliability
  • Experience with data mgmt., ETL, data quality, metadata management, data loads, data profiling
  • Experience with covering engineering best practices (code quality, repo hygiene, code reviews, unit testing, design documentation, deployment )
  • Mastery of continuous integration and automatic testing tools
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
