Genomics England successfully led the world-leading 100,000 Genomes Project, which compared and analysed individuals’ genetic codes to help diagnose, treat and prevent illness.
We're now accelerating our impact, working with the NHS to further develop and embed genomic healthcare and research in Britain. Our next chapter involves working with patients, doctors, scientists, government and industry to improve genomic testing, and help researchers access the health data and technology they need to make new medical discoveries and create more effective, targeted medicines for everybody.
As Head of Financial Control, Governance and Accounts, you will work with the Director of Finance, the Head of Finance Business Partnering, our three FBPs and our Finance Assistant to manage Genomics England’s c£140m annual budget.
In this exciting role you will be part of a small but dynamic finance team. Together you will be responsible for the full breadth of finance work for the company, with this role focused on financial processes and controls to enable the company to discharge both its statutory and accounting officer responsibilities taken from its shareholder, the Department of Health and Social Care, and it’s statutory responsibilities as a private limited company.
The Head of Financial Control, Governance and Accounts will engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders across the company and beyond, including DHSC and the GEL Audit and Risk committee.
