Job Description

The Project Manager will provide project management services for the mandated enhancements of the Childcare Licensing Automation Support System (CLASS) Foster Care Litigation and CLASS Stabilization project. This position will be responsible for managing technical deliverables including new hardware, middle ware installation and the migration of applications to the new hardware. The project is expected to complete infrastructure specifications, review and accept hardware as well as modify existing applications as needed to enable it to run in the new environment. This position will establish the milestone schedules, establish agile sprint cycles, manage risks and issues, and provide status reports.

The workers responsibilities and skills must include:

  • The worker will be responsible for managing the initiative as an agile project using scrum. 
  • The worker must possess good communication and organizational skills that are critical for the success of the project. 
  • The worker must be skilled with risk management and mitigation to balance requirements, scope, and issues while delivering a successful project. 
  • The worker will need to possess good mediation skills for dealing with business units with conflicting requirements. 
  • The worker must demonstrate a history of leading a team through similar projects successfully.

Qualifications

Required Skills (candidate must meet the min requirement in year of experience and clearly show on resume to be considered for position)

  • 6 yrs experience serving as an Technical Project Management
  • 5 yrs experience working on agile projects utilizing scrum
  • 5 yrs experience facilitating meetings (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective)
  • 5 yrs experience managing risks and issues
  • 5 yrs experience with conflict resolution and removing team impediments.
  • 5yrs experience creating communication channels between the team, product owner and stakeholder.
  • 5 yrs experience managing projects with hardware-based deliverables.
  • 4 yrs experience 
  • Strong verbal and communication skills

Preferred:

  • 4 yrs experience working in a Agile SDLC environment.
  • 4 yrs experience using Jira to track work assignments.

Additional Information

  • The primary work location will be Winters C Building, 4800 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78751. Due to COVID, the team is currently teleworking and will continue to do so until further instruction.  
  • The worker may be required to work remotely at HHSC discretion, up to 100 percent of the time.
  • Candidate must be authorize to work in US and must be able to pass a security background check.
