Job Description

The QA Engineer Automated will provide testing services for the mandated enhancements of the Childcare Licensing Automation Support System (CLASS) Foster Care Litigation and CLASS Stabilization project. This position will create test cases and scripts for functional and nonfunctional requirements, prepare test data, execute test scripts, analyze data, support user acceptance testing, and provide defect triaging. The project is expected to produce several CLASS deployments throughout fiscal year 22.  

The workers responsibilities and skills must include:

  • Create test cases and scripts
  • Maintain and update UFT Test suites for regression testing
  • Prepare test data to be loaded in the database
  • Execute test script logging results
  • Document defects including steps to reproduce
  • Utilize analysis and diagramming tools to represent business processes
  • Must have historical and proven knowledge and practical application of testing best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Required Skills (candidate must meet the min requirement in year of experience and clearly show on resume to be considered for position)

  • 8 yrs experience providing strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users.
  • 8 yrs experience in developing test suites in UFT or similar tool.
  • 8 yrs experience working Database query languages (SQL, PL/SQL).
  • 6 yrs experience developing Requirements Traceability Matrices.
  • 6 yrs experience developing and executing Test Scripts
  • 6 yrs experience developing Test Plans and coordinating User Acceptance Testing
  • 6 yrs experience with general IT SDLC processes.
  • 4 yrs experience using JIRA for managing project/sprint tasks. 
  • 1 yr experience working on projects utilizing agile project management methodologies.

Preferred:

  • 4 yrs experience working in a Agile SDLC environment.
  • 4 yrs experience using Jira to track work assignments.

Additional Information

  • The primary work location will be Winters C Building, 701 w 51st St, Austin, Texas 78751. Due to COVID, the team is currently teleworking and will continue to do so until further instruction.  
  • The worker may be required to work remotely at HHSC discretion, up to 100 percent of the time.
  • Candidate must be authorize to work in US and must be able to pass a security background check.
