Job Description

Manager, Total Rewards (Benefits):

The Manager, Total Rewards (Benefits) role is accountable for the development and execution of HR Total Rewards programs. This position focuses on employee wellness, including the areas of mental, physical and financial wellness, benefits design and administration, and recognition in support of the Cineplex culture, improving the employee experience and embracing the future of work. This position manages total rewards programs for the organization with consideration to market practices, effective management, oversight, and day-to-day administration. The mandate includes program design and implementation, communication, process management and improvement, insights and analytics, and governance efforts to ensure Cineplex remains competitive and aligned with our HR strategy and philosophy.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

Benefits, Recognition, and Wellness Strategy Development and Program Design

  • Recommends and leads the design of total rewards programs focusing on the mental, physical and financial wellness, and recognition, aligned with the Cineplex Culture, HR strategy and future of work.
  • Identifies future trends and opportunities in evolving the total rewards programs.
  • Handles health, life, group savings / retirement, and time off programs and policies across the company including contract renewals, administration, and relationship.
  • Leads and coordinates planning efforts which includes financial projections, external benchmarking and tapping into internal trends/insights to identify gaps and support recommendations for Total Rewards Programs.
  • Supports the VP Total Rewards of Cineplex in the development of the Total Rewards strategy.

Benefits, Recognition and Wellness Program Delivery:

  • With a keen focus on employee experience, the role is accountable for the effective delivery of benefits, wellness, recognition and other total reward programs. This includes operational and resource management, financial management, and compliance to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates closely with colleagues across Cineplex to ensure the delivery of high quality, holistic mental, physical and financial wellness programs in line with future of work.

Total Rewards Communications:

  • Collaborates with the Marketing and Human Resources teams and others to develop communications and marketing plans associated with all aspects of programming including digital apps, website, and social media to improve overall employee experience and understanding of plans.
  • This includes but is not limited to program documents, employee articles, learning artifacts, and total rewards statements.
  • Manages a small team; provides coaching and development.
  • Manages relevant external providers in the design, development and implementation of programs (benchmarking, benefit design consultants).
  • Performs continuous cost and productivity analyses of total rewards programs and initiatives.
  •  Acts as back-up to other Total Rewards and HR team members.

Additional Information

Skills and Education Requirements:

  • Five to ten years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Five to ten years’ experience in Total Rewards / benefits / retirement program management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL)
  • Deep technical current knowledge of benefits, wellness and savings plan practices, processes and policies
  • Current and evolving knowledge of total rewards approaches, market trends and issues, and market leading practices in health care & retirement programs including the design, development and direction of related programs and services
  • Strong business acumen including an understanding of business strategies, competitive challenges and the financial impact of HR decisions
  • Strategic innovative thinking and decision-making skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mind-set are crucial
  • Solutions focused with a simple and practical approach
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to address individual perspectives of those you are advising
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic objectives; motivate and develop staff; effectively lead resources; and cultivate strong collaborative relationships.
  • Comfortable presenting, articulating strategy and points of view from both in front and behind the scenes.
  • Demonstrable experience in change management principles related to global strategy development and implementation
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills.
