Job Description

This is a 12 month FTC (home-based in North America)

The purpose of this team is to establish and lead a strategy for the delivery of HR support across our North American (NAM) locations across USA and Canada

  • Contribute towards the strategic development of HR policies and draft new policies for NAM offices.
  • Manage and regularly update HR documentation relating to processes and policies, ensuring legal compliance, and management of communications relating to any changes
  • Identify any issues around processes and systems and make necessary changes or consider alternative options, to ensure smooth delivery of HR operations
  • Run and manage HR projects in NAM, and support on global HR projects
  • Manage the cost effective & efficient delivery of HR services and administration in NAM office locations, offering ongoing expert advice to help optimise and improve NAM HR related processes and the right balance/allocation of work within the team
  • Provide advice on employee relations issues including disciplinary and performance issues for administrative support, professional and managerial employees, in alignment and coordination with HR Advisors/HRBPs
  • Support with and advise on the implementation of legal and compliance changes which impact NAM locations

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • All areas of HR management, with in-depth knowledge of at least one core HR Technical Competency such as talent, reward, L&D or Performance Management
  • Must have experience of US and Canada
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • The mining industry and its people related challenges
  • Basic understanding of change management and organisational development methodologies including employee engagement and team facilitation
  • SAP or similar ERP systems

Ability to:

  • Design and advise on HR processes and policies with specific reference to UK employment legislation
  • Advise on best sourcing methods
