Department: Business Transformation          

Hours of work: 9:00 – 17:30

The Business Transformation Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of multiple projects, where the size, complexity and solution may vary. A key position within a newly created team responsible for the delivery of business strategy, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multi-jurisdictions; challenging corporate-wide business strategies, processes and requirements. The successful applicant will be expected to take the lead with business stakeholders to document, assess and review existing process. Responsible for the creation and implementation of business improvement plans ensuring the solution is executed and managed in line with the delivery plan, quality, budget and governance. This role will help to promote a culture of sustainable continuous improvement to support the business strategic objectives through the delivery of business transformation. 

Job Description

  • Ongoing responsibility is delivering projects to enable and support business priorities, project commitments
  • Plan, orchestrate, drive and deliver transformation projects, track and measure outputs to enable real-time review and forecast for project impact and timeframes
  • To identify and deliver business improvement activity across the company through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovate thinking
  • Maintain frequent communication with project working stakeholders to ensure everyone is aware of scope, action items, risks, and project changes
  • To work with key business stakeholders and multi-jurisdictional continuous improvement champions to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change.
  • Work to launch innovative projects on time and within budget and manage allocated resources.
  • Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements
  • Demonstrating strong project management skills, including an ability to plan and execute projects that meet cost, resource and outcome expectations; manage complex and/or competing priorities effectively; and meet commitments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas
  • Support the delivery of improved value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business process and identification of better ways of working
  • Anticipates consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement strategy
  • Take ownership of change initiatives from evolution through to benefit realisation maintaining internal governance and controls
  • Developing and communicating business cases to support recommendations for change to current business practices and processes and developing controls to monitor the progress associated with implementation of recommended changes
  • To elicit requirements and drive process change using stakeholder interviews, time and motion studies, document analysis, internal workshops, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis
  • Identifying and on-boarding change ambassadors in key business and project areas; tracking stakeholder engagement
  • Identifying issues and defining remedial actions where required
  • Complete post implementation reviews to ensure a successful project delivery has been achieved and identify any future improvement opportunities

Key Relationships:

  • Senior management across project business areas
  • Internal stakeholders and third parties when and where appropriate
  • Business transformation team, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Governance team

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Proven track record of implementing business improvements
  • A solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management processes and methodologies.
  • Experience successfully managing Transformation projects in an Agile environment.
  • Experience implementing process methods and frameworks including Agile, Scrum, Six Sigma, Prince2, MSP or in-house methods
  • Experience of Change management processes
  • Capable of working with sensitive data in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Experience applying lean methodologies such as Kanban, Lean Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping
  • Ability to present data accurately
  • Good people skills and ability to influence and motivate others
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, as demonstrated by presentation of problems to appropriate people in an objective and non-judgmental manner; matching influence strategies to the situation; delivering oral and written communications with clarity and impact.
  • Ability to perform intermediate/advanced computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to apply innovation and exploration of non-traditional ideas in solving problems
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to negotiate issues and suggestions
  • Ability to effectively coach others at all levels in simple to complex problem solving, project management and basic understanding of Lean methodologies
  • Able to work flexible hours if essential                                                                                    

Qualifications:

  • Desirable to have Prince2 Practitioner
  • Desirable to have Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • English and Math’s GCSE’s (or demonstrable literacy and numeracy)

Working Location

Based at Phoenix Park NG8 6BA with occasional visits to the Newmarket Recovery Centre and customer sites
