As Business Development and Sales Account Manager, you’ll roll-up your sleeves every day to engage customer networks and the internal nanoComposix team of scientists and field application support specialists.  This is a critical role in the organization with the opportunity to help define our growth in the pharma, biotech, industrial and academic communities. This position requires a willingness and aptitude to tackle a wide range of challenges, the savvy to internalize the complexities of nanoComposix’s business and balance competing demands and priorities. You will own end-to-end projects within the customer facing portfolio.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and new business development accounts within the Eastern Territory (see territory map).
  • Build new business development opportunities within the respective territory to expand product sales within the Fortis Nanoparticle and Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) portfolio for direct product and assay development services for the RUO, IVD and OEM customer base.
  • Comprehend and communicate customer needs that support business development for the Fortis Nanoparticle and Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) portfolio, which includes direct products and customized products that support a range of applications including medical devices, nanoparticle drug delivery and optical sensors.
  • Communicate direct product needs and custom assay development needs to project managers to move projects forward with internal team technical assistance.
  • Set customer guidelines and expectations on new product sample evaluations timelines to ensure in-quarter forecasting when available.
  • Create customer quotes for direct product and customized orders.
  • Understand unique market needs to build strategic action items that will expand company influence and expand product sales within the Fortis Nano-Particle and Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) portfolio.
  • Work with the Fortis field application scientist (FAS) team to co-coordinate training and application support.
  • Report quarterly sales results and forecasts during quarterly business reviews.
  • Use customer database to research account and sales history that will drive revenue growth in net new customer base and expansion within existing accounts.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may not be listed above, that are necessary to accomplish our goal of improving lives by supporting scientific discovery.   

Qualifications

Who You Are & What You Bring

Education / Background

  • B.S. degree with a concentration in business.
  • Biology degree or science-related industry background.
  • Proven track record of 3-5 years of experience in technical sales in the life science industry.
  • Technical sales background with assay development focus or targeted-drug delivery focus.
  • Track-record of being self-driven to accomplish sales goals in team setting.
  • Previous CRM experience (Sales Force).

  • Strong relationship building and consultative skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management abilities within a team network of customers, scientists, and field application scientist.
  • Flexibility to accommodate different work processes, professional work styles and people solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in an individual and team environment.
  • Previous CRM experience (Sales Force).
  • Microsoft Office.
