QA Engineer

API is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our growing team. 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Work with the development team to identify testing needs and opportunities.
• Develop a QA testing strategy for the product, determining the appropriate balance of manual and automated tests, as well as the types of tests (UI, web service API, functional/performance/load, etc).
• Create manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and fix bugs, ensuring issues are logged, tracked and resolved in a timely manner. 

YOUR EXPERTISE :

• 2+ years work experience as QA Engineer or similar position.
• Familiarity with Katalon, Selenium, or similar tools. 
• Comfortable with Postman, Jmeter, or other web service API testing tools.
• Experience using source control systems such as Github.
• Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment is preferred.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field or relevant work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Knowledge of a QA scripting language Python or Javascript (preferred).
• Experience writing SQL queries to verify database values.
• A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex acceptance criteria and think strategically about how to effectively test these; excellent problem-solving skills is essential.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and drive projects to completion, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Team-spirited and able to work collaboratively within a team and across multiple departments.
