QA Engineer, Web Automation

At Wolt we are sticklers for our user experience and there is now a spot open in our QA team for the one who shares this passion with us. In this role you will be working with our presence on the web - wolt.com. As a QA Engineer, your goal is to take our software testing to the next level and enable automation of our QA processes & testing. As we are driven by the quality of our code and product, you'd be in a crucial position to keep our quality at a top-notch level!

In this role you’d be working in our agile web app development team with skilled engineers, designers and a product lead. We aim for high ownership of quality and ownership by the teams and our QA Engineers focus on building and coaching the best practices and developing testing infrastructure for all to benefit. You'll be supporting the team on their QA related activities and planning, designing, implementing and executing manual and automated tests (e.g. acceptance tests from end to end perspective), managing and tracking bugs and verifying they've been fixed. A big chunk of testing for web applications in this team is automated and we hope you’d be able to help the team in building an efficient and trustworthy test automation framework and ensure our release quality.

This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here.

As the focus in this role will be on web automation, we are looking for prior experience in web application testing, ideally some years in it. Experience and skills in coaching the team, overall test planning and creating test automation are a must. The importance of user experience is something we can’t highlight enough and hope you share this mindset with us.

Tools wise we'd hope you to be comfortable with e.g. Jira, Git, Cypress/TestCafe, Jenkins & Github Actions. Basic level programming skills e.g. Typescript (React) or JavaScript will be beneficial, but we appreciate knowledge in other languages too. We also look for experience with 3rd party integrations and API testing and experience with modern web app testing tools like Jest, react-testing-library or msw. You'll be working in a role which requires active communication across-teams, proactiveness and great communication skills. 

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
