We are in search of a Creator Marketing Program Lead to join the Brand & Audience Expansion team. Our team’s mission is to help Shopify reach new audiences and empower more entrepreneurs. Every day, merchants post inspiring content about entrepreneurship (and Shopify) across Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter reaching millions of people. As Program Lead, you will design and manage programs that create, capture, and promote content that helps introduce entrepreneurship to new audiences and bring them back to Shopify.
Our team has shipped Creator Marketing programs including unboxing experience for merchant creators on Tiktok, shipped Shopify Counters to creators to track orders in-real-life, and more. As Program Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing our Brand Advocacy strategy and be accountable for meeting program goals. You will evaluate existing programs through stop, pivot, or scale decisions as well as lead new experimental programs. You will coordinate with teams and manage stakeholders both inside and outside the company and collaborate with individuals across design, development, data, partnerships, and operations.

You are a builder and can demonstrate how you have built programs from scratch as well as scaled programs to reach thousands of people. You are a self-starter that enjoys navigating ambiguity through experimentation and iteration and who knows how to solve problems that are not well defined. You have strong quantitative skills and demonstrate how you’ve used data to inform necessary decision-making. You will be responsible for:
Strategy for Creator Marketing programming: aligning objectives and key results with program initiatives (new and existing)
Setting objectives and targets for projects and regularly communicating program results
Developing program roadmap factoring in resourcing requirements and constraints with RnD leadership
Managing curated experiences, partnerships, and programming
Setting and operate within program budget
Providing regular updates up/across the organization and meet with key stakeholders to generate alignment
Acting as project champion: writing briefs, facilitating project kick-offs, maintaining timeline and deadlines, coordinating with UX (designers, developers, content) and marketing stakeholders (brand, PR, growth), owning regular reporting and communications, leading debrief sessions, etc.
Managing a scalable relationship management system to coordinate with merchants creators and partners on joint programming
Working with data to build custom reports to analyze opportunities, set up tripwires, and monitor campaign performance.
You’ll need to have:
A proven track record building and scaling programs to drive marketing KPIs
Experience working with creators or influencers on partnerships or activations (digital and in-person) either in-house (brand) or at an agency
Strong understanding of Internet and Creator culture, capable of turning trends into programs and activations
Built and managed a team of 2-3 direct people
Been responsible for creating and managing programs or initiatives with a budget > $1M
Experience collaborating with in-house R&D teams to execute creative campaigns or digital experiences
Experience balancing priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously across multiple timelines
First hand experience growing an audience on a digital platform as an individual contributor: content writer, paid marketer, channel specialist etc.
A passion for analytics and experience with the tools/resources used to measure success (Google Analytics, A/B testing tools etc.)
An analytical mindset and experience using analytics/data to optimize funnels, adoption and conversion rates
Experience coordinating with external stakeholders (partners, agencies or media)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Naturally curious and enjoy learning about new technologies, tools, and digital trends and excited to find innovative new ways to connect with audiences
The ability to embrace uncertainty and run with risks
