Job Description

The Group Revenue manager is responsible for all channel management and OTB uplift and analysis across the portfolio. This involves working across various booking horizons (7, 30, 90 days etc.) to identify soft dates for packages, competitions and offers at least 8 weeks in advance. 

You shall implement a Revenue Mgt Rate system using a high tech and high touch approach, per property and monitor room night occupancy uplift with each General Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager on a daily basis via the PMS, Project Map and BHR.

The Group Revenue Manager shall source and then implement a new software reservation system and back office system across the group. This shall ensure that all of our properties are standardized, in conjunction with the Sales Director, Systems & IT Manager and Group Financial Controller. 

As a secondary initiative, the Revenue manager shall drive room night volume in Q4 2021 and then drive room rate in 2022 onwards, as a general post COVID-19 strategy. All reservations within the new online booking engine shall have an upsell function to ensure that guests can easily ‘click thru’ and add on ½ board packages, massage treatments options etc. within the direct booking process to enhance guest experience as well as drive incremental revenue.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up, oversee and guide the property revenue management teams to formulate transient and group inventory restrictions and pricing strategies towards the goal of increasing market share and maximizing revenues for each resort, cafe & restaurant, per location.
  • Implement the property sales strategy and pricing recommendations across all channels, property revenue systems and market segments in conjunction with the Sales Director and General Manager.
  • Analyze results of strategies and tactics deployed on a monthly basis. Provide all communication necessary to the property leadership team, global / regional teams and ownership groups where properties are managed under a license agreement.
  • Responsible for executing company revenue management initiatives, and creating and maintaining the guidelines outlined in the Revenue Management Standards and Procedures manual.
  • Manage the relationship with each of the four major OTA’s to ensure that all properties are maximizing revenue and marketing exposure from each of these partners.     
  • Create the revenue forecasting process for each property to ensure that the accuracy of each forecast falls within the company standards. This includes the Weekly, Monthly and Annual forecast as needed. Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget for each property.
  • Work with the property General Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and implement group pricing and inventory strategies for the entire group-booking cycle.
  • Develop pricing strategy with each General Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager for the business/leisure travel sales team based on demand projections and competitive shops. Align with the Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure that property strategy is implemented on an account-by-account basis. 
  • Partner with the property General Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and implement the SEO/SEM goals in conjunction with the Group Marketing Manager. Focus the teams on tactics that produce the highest revenue and the greatest return on investment.
  • Facilitate and lead weekly hotel Sales Strategy meetings and Daily Business Review meetings with each property Sales & Marketing Manager and FO Supervisor in accordance with Hotel Revenue Management standards and in conjunction with the Sales Director.
  • Effectively manage and maintain the hotels revenue management systems in accordance with company Revenue Management Standards.
  • Coordinate with the Sales & Marketing Manager and / or Revenue Manager and FO Supervisor to maximize revenue from programs such as the Front Desk up-sell programs, sell out management effectiveness etc.
  • Work closely with each Event Sales Manager and / or Revenue Manager to ensure that the property meeting room spaces are properly utilized to maximize room and food and beverage revenue potential. 
  • Monitor the property Sales & Marketing Managers and Front Office Supervisors, in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure that all guest enquiries are handled proactively.
  • Ensure all Sales & Marketing Managers, Revenue Managers, FO Supervisors and reservations teams are fully compliant with the Company Standards and Guidelines, in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Work closely with the property Sales Team to ensure Group Allocations and Reservations are handled diligently and accurately.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years Reservation / Revenue Management related experience in 4-5 star Hotels and Resorts.

  • Strong experience needed in both Hospitality Front Office and Central or Back Office Reservations departments.

  • Excellent computer and finance skills with experience in relevant systems (e.g. IDeaS, SynXis, Opera, Delphi, Siteminder, EZ Yield, Travelclick, BI tools & Tableau) strongly preferred in order to process reservations, run and collate reports, and respond to property inquiries (occupancy, rates, etc.) .

  • Strong technical skills / knowledge of the leading Hotels and Resorts software systems and front desk procedures. Independent & good interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced proficiency and ability to create in Google sheets and Powerpoint.

  • Strong project management skills with an eye for details. Excellent communication skills with ability to present clear & concise information to different stakeholders.
