Job Description

The University of Guelph is looking to bring on a Business Analyst to be part of our project team working on our new HRMS program.  This Business Analyst with work along side our Project Manager, our vendor and internal Workstream Leads to assist with moving into the UAT (user acceptance testing) phase of our Human Resource Management project and beyond.  The main tasks will be to review requirements, assist with requirements traceability, complete/review test cases and help with updating final process documentation.  The position is available immediately and is expected to be required until October 2022.

 

We are looking for a Business Analyst who can support the remainder of our HRMS program as we move into the testing phases of our program. The ideal candidate:

  • Will have previous experience in a large ERP solution in the cloud. Human Resource Management implementation experience would be considered a strong asset.
  • Has the ability to converge and communicate with technology, information, design and development teams.
  • Has experience with working with an integrator and in delivering on a solution with multiple vendors as partners.
  • Has led a team through the creation of test cases and through the UAT phase of a project.
  • Has the ability to evaluate business processes and technology with the experience to understand gaps.
  • Progressive SAP HRMS (SuccessFactors) knowledge would be preferred.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of HR and Time entry solutions

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of test cases and participate in user acceptance testing and tracking.
  • Evaluating business processes, requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Support ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Performing requirements analysis and assist with requirements traceability.
  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful summaries and reports.
  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining requirements and process documentation.

Other information:

  • The duties of this role can be performed remotely.

  • The position will report to a member of the HRMS Project Team.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, business, information technology or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis and quality analysis testing.
  • Certified and in good standing in business analysis (eg. BABOK).
  • Experience with using Microsoft Azure Dev Ops for project tracking and traceabilty, would be desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Experience in leading meetings.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
