The Screening Core’s singular focus is to develop and bring to market early cancer detection products with the speed and urgency needed to achieve  the organization’s ambituous goals and to serve the millions of individuals who can benefit from early cancer detection.

 

 

 

Job Description

The Associate Director, Market Insights and Analytics will develop, lead, and oversee primary & secondary market research, forecasting, marketing data analytics and the competitive intelligence platforms to inform and measure outcomes of respective tactics. The Associate Director will derive insights and actionable implications from market & competitive research, among both physicians and patients, to strengthen commercial understanding of marketplace dynamics and inform strategic brand planning and commercial development. Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales Operations, this player-coach role will have one direct report and partner closely with Screening Commercial Team and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the Screening Core Division.  

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Market Research, Insights & Analytics 

  • Develop and execute the market research plan and strategy to elevate the data analysis capabilities at Guardant Health 

  • Prioritize of key business questions, vendor selection, working with vendor to design questionnaires, developing study design, and report developments and findings, and insights presentations 

  • Proactively identify gaps in available research and plan, execute, and deliver routine and ad-hoc primary and secondary market research to the commercial teams 

  • Utilize existing market research and available data sources to address information and insights related questions made by the customers 

  • Track competitor activity and provide timely assessment and periodic competitive intelligence reports to stakeholders in the organization 

  • Develop and continuously improve reporting and tracking mechanisms, both tools and processes, to support effective and accurate market research data collection and analysis 

  • Integrate and synthesize multiple data sources, including primary, secondary, and syndicated data to report key market and product trends and insights to internal stakeholders 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Support short-term demand forecasting and develop and maintain analytics dashboards to monitor key performance indicators. 

  • As needed, provide operational analyses to support launch planning and in-line analysis of customer uptake, ordering behavior, and share analyses. 

  • Track and manage budget. 

  • Manage external suppliers and partners to increase and enhance the use of advanced modeling 

  • Develop and coach the members of the analytics team 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Experience: 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing, Data Science, or Other Analytical Focus) 

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, market research, analytics, competitive Intelligence, commercial or payer assessment function with direct pharma/biotech/diagnostics OR consulting for these industries is required 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing, Data Science, or Other Analytical Focus). 

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, market research, analytics, competitive Intelligence, commercial or payer assessment function with direct pharma/biotech/diagnostics OR consulting for these industries is required 

  • 1+ years diagnostics and/or pharmaceutical commercial data analytics experience, including working with IQVIA, Definitive Healthcare, Symphony and MMIT, market access data and payer claims 

  • 1+ year(s) of leadership experience with demonstrated success in employee development, coaching, hiring, and performance management 

  • Demonstrated expertise developing insights and collaborating with commercial and marketing leadership teams to develop go-to-market strategies and execution plan 

  • Experience with Kano survey methodology or any other methodologies to support product features/attributes for commercial development 

  • Ability to combine primary data sources and secondary market research insights to support sales and marketing strategies and forecasting 

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment and partner with external/internal stakeholders 

  • Strong business acumen, problem solving skills and expert analytical skills 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills 

  • Ability to prioritize cross functional projects and maintain high degree of accuracy amid competing deadlines 

  • Strong vendor management skills and ability to effectively manage to budget 

  • Command of Microsoft software programs (PowerPoint, Excel) 

  • Experience with Salesforce.com platform and Tableau. SQL programming and/or Google Analytics a plus
