Founded in Munich, Germany in 1989, Brainlab develops, manufactures and markets software-driven medical technology, enabling access to improved, more efficient, less-invasive patient treatments. “Mit 5G Leben retten – saving lives with 5G”, this is the title of an ambitious project between the university hospital Düsseldorf UKD, Vodafone, Brainlab and other partners.
For this we create Europe’s first medical 5G campus at a university hospital. The 5G network provides a quantum leap for digital transformation of healthcare and medicine at universities, driven by the expertise of a broad spectrum of medical specialties and industry.
Within this project, Brainlab will integrate its Mixed Reality technology within surgical procedures and combine it with 5G. Currently Brainlabs Mixed Reality Viewer provides a novel perspective on patient anatomy. With a head-mounted display, this software frees patient data from the 2D screen and brings it into the operating room. Surgeons can move around and interact with medical data as never before.
One milestone of this project is to enhance Mixed Reality Viewer by planning functionalities for tumor surgery and anatomical teaching. To support this project, our R&D Viewer team at Brainlab is looking for a Software Developer.
In this project you can influence the shape of the software, take over responsibilities and create solutions in close cooperation with the medical experts. In fast iterations with surgeons and staff of the UKD, you can drive decisions and directly sculpt the solution. In addition, you will be part of a fast-paced and motivated team. Thinking outside the box will be rewarded by immediate feedback from the end user of your software.
