Job Description

Global finance services organisation is seeking a commercially astute finance business partner with outstanding influencing skills to support in the first instance the EMEA EITS organisation, working closely with the EMEA Technology Finance BP (Dharms Morarji) and playing a key role in understanding the IT cost base across the region, supporting the new EMEA CIO’s IT management team.

The successful applicant will provide tactical and strategic support to help drive value from the technology spend. They will identify initiatives to drive efficiency of the cost base, with accurate cost reporting and detailed analysis, to help give strategic direction.

As well as spend that is allocated as EITS, a key part of the role will be to bring together all IT spend across EMEA for a holistic view and value add by understanding the cost base, where scale can be leveraged, working with procurement, and in market IT teams. 

EMEA is a multi-country, matrixed functional business, and the successful candidate will need to have having strong influencing skills and be able to work across the business, to both learn, and then promote best practice.

As Technology Business Management - a new method for understanding cost drivers, is rolled out across the organisation, it is expected that this role will take direct ownership of understanding TBM and will help manage forecast and manage expenditure.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Regional organization (e.g. strategy, priorities, technology)
  • Effectively manage budgets and review incremental costs; provide challenge and review and undertake analysis to understand commercial benefits of costs.
  • Manage a vendor cost forecast over a rolling over 12-month period and work with procurement to identify commercial opportunities; build and help manage the EMEA IT contract database
  • Prepare regional management reporting and analysis for presentation both to the EITS consolidation and EMEA Country finance teams
  • Liaise with EMEA finance teams and review / challenge all IT expenditure regardless of business function
  • Provide modelling and analysis for initiatives (e.g., product profit understanding, cost reduction opportunities, vendor contracts)
  • Support creation of business cases (including SPC), and manage IT capital budgets and ensure value expectations from approved projects expenditure is met
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial support & partnering
  • Contribution to IT strategic planning for the Region
  • Build Senior finance stakeholders’ relationships in EMEA and EITS finance organisations
  • Develop & produce regular Consolidated Technology Reporting for the EMEA Region
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across all aspects of the financial processes.
  • Ensure financial processes are compliant and aligned to the best practice global processes.
  • Promote best practice and continue with business process improvements and re-engineering to drive efficiency and add value to the business.
  • Act as a key member of Finance BPs team to determine priorities and drive process and organisational change improvements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years working in a fast-paced Finance Department with relevant in-role work experience.
  • A tangible track record of independently improving the efficiency, accuracy and insight provided by finance processes.
  • Appropriate Finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent
  • Evidence of strong impact and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives – including delivery of those requirements within a short and pre-defined timeframe
  • Experience of having worked in a fast-paced environment and able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders (e.g., members of EITS, business units, finance, sourcing, vendors).  Builds strong relationships with key players.  Takes proactive approach to meeting business partner needs.  Does what is feasible and sensible to maintain goodwill. Able to work across cultures and geographies.
  • Ability to use standard Experian tools and systems, including Oracle, Hyperion and Excel; strong Excel modelling skills with attention to detail as well as an ability to see the bigger picture
  • Understands Experian organization and operations.  Demonstrates awareness of business strategy, priorities and changes. 
  • Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a specific finance problem
  • Ability to contribute in strategic debate, and has a knowledge of IT and technology trends
