Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for IT engineer with Linux, Windows Server and Network experience to work for our customer in Manchester area. This is mainly remote role, but 1 day visit per week in the office will be required.

Your daily duties will include firewall changes and configuration, checking back ups and managing virtual web servers

Some of the functions and tasks you will handle: 

•    System and DB administration
•    Lead on current and new Infrastructure design and deployment 
•    Cooperate with R&D and participate in Implementation of new deployments and migration of existing solutions 
•    Plan and participate in execution of system check and proactive/preventive maintenance on Infrastructure and platforms (full-stack) 
•    Documenting existing and new infrastructure and solutions as well as standard procedures (e.g. Backup and Disaster Recovery) 
•    2nd level troubleshooting and analytical problem investigation 
•    Take part in our monitoring and Incident/Support-case handling 
 

Required
•    Good standalone server/operating system administration experience Linux and Windows. 
•    A solid understanding of Virtualization technology – we use VMware and Xen
•    Production Database administration experience (Oracle 11g onwards)
•    Good understanding of Infrastructure hardware like Routers, Switches and Firewalls 
•    Good understanding of IP routing, switching and firewalls.
