There is a requirement for a hands-on developer to provide ongoing development of the Microsoft SSAS Tabular Models and Power BI solutions.

The role requires a person who has development experience using the Microsoft toolset within Azure, specifically:

·        Building SSIS packages or using Azure Data Factory

·        SSAS Tabular models that can be consumed by Power BI

·        SQL Server or Azure Synaps

·        Build compelling and good-looking Power BI reports that enable self-serve

·        Be a coach to new staff wishing to learn to use Power BI

The role will interface with the BI Business Analyst(s) and Product Owners and internal teams assigned to the projects.

Project delivery will follow an Agile methodology and therefore experience working collaboratively in sprint planning and delivery is critical.

Essential duties and accountability:

·        Working with Business Analysts, Product Owners and internal teams to understand business requirements and expected outcomes and measure

·        Translating these business requirements into building SSIS packages, SSAS Tabular Models and power BI reports

·        Storyboarding designs to define and test requirements early

·        Ability to understand and maintain existing code base and if required, troubleshoot for bugs

Development planning and delivery using the Agile project methodology

·        Demonstratable hands on experience of delivering BI solutions using the Microsoft tool set, specifically SSAS, SSIS, DAX and Power BI in an Azure environment

·        Code version management (Bitbucket, Harvest or GitHub)

·        Ability to set up and debug complex pipelines in Data Factory

·        Performance tuning within Microsoft Azure environment

·        Attention to detail and focused on accuracy of output

·        Experience with test automation and data validation processes

·        Operational experience of maintaining a BI stack

·        Knowledge of Bi Security best practices is highly advantageous

·        Good communicator with experience of explaining technical solutions to non-technical audiences
