Job Description

The role will be hands-on in building the business and technical requirements for reporting and analytical solutions using data that is generated within the IFS ERP or other 3rd party systems.

The role requires a person who has experience in complex data analysis using a variety of techniques and tools such as SQL coding or using analytical query tools like Power Query or Alteryx.

It demands an understanding of how data from multiple sources can be joined together to create a data set for consumption by the wider BI user community.

The critical skill required is being able to:

·        Document usage processes for data entry/creation/management

·        interpret business requirements and translate this into a Data model

·        Explain the data model, its potential and limitations to end users.

·        Work with the BI Developer and understand how they might approach building the solution

·        Quality control the solution through build and delivery

·        Monitor quality and reliability to reduce rework and user frustration

Duties will include:

·        Hands-on analysis of complex data sets to develop a data model that can solve business problems

·        Being the go-to person for collaboration between business, technical resources, and transformation team.

·        Understanding of Agile project methodology and the role of Business Analysts and Product Owners within it

·        Provision of business and technical requirements documentation

·        Ability to operate as part of a project with defined outcomes

·        Maintain projects in Jira, align priorities and keep participants informed of progress

·        Co-ordinate and encourage citizen developer community

·        Create Bi processes and documentation to enable a contribution model to create capacity from the larger Developer and BI community

Qualifications

·        Demonstratable hands on experience of delivering BI and Analytical solutions using a variety of tools. Experience of Power BI would be advantageous. Use of Tableau or Qlik would also be beneficial

·        Ability to write basic code in either SQL, Python or R to do data discovery

·        Evidence of strong documentation and presentation skills

·        Good communicator with experience of explaining technical information to a non-technical audience
