We are looking for a client-facing Associate Director of Paid Media who will report directly to the CSO and Head of Client Success. The Associate Director of Paid Media is responsible for leading a team of media managers across channels such as paid social, paid search and programmatic advertising specifically for our enterprise level clients or group of brands. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and management of the paid media strategy and campaigns across assigned brands/clients. You will work closely with the media and platform activation teams to maintain campaign quality, and drive performance against client goals. Although we are a team of 400+, this department is a newer and will receive extra support and resources to establish itself and grow. The Associate Director of Paid Media will have the chance to make a significant impact at the agency, and own the department as a whole.
● Plan and innovative paid media programs for brand and series marketing (with the digital marketing team) to ensure development as well as execution align with overall campaign objectives
● Develop strategies and campaigns where all marketing channels are working together and be able to clearly articulate overall themes as well as trends across the paid media plan
● Build strong relationships with client counterparts and manage day-to-day relationships including strategic oversight and overall problem solving/troubleshooting
● Oversee a team handling execution, including building campaigns, setting up ads, campaign pacing, tagging, tracking, and QA
● Partner with publishers on best practices and testing new products, features and analytics tools
● Execute and optimize paid search and social campaigns across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest and programmatic) including audience planning, retargeting, sequential messaging, reach, frequency and A/B tactics
● Recommend creative executions using new and best performing ad products
● Work with the insights, analysis and programmatic teams to measure and attribute campaign success with business KPIs
● Prepare post-campaign analysis for, and present to, cross-functional teams and directors
● Develop briefs for platform partners and manage RFP process
● Ad hoc reporting
● Must have 2+ years of paid social and paid search experience working with budgets over $500K per month, for brands.
● Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with paid social and paid search platforms
● Cross-channel budget allocation and forecasting experience
● Experience with self-service and full-service offerings provided by other social partners such Snap, TikTok, Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Quora
● Deep understanding of the Facebook Ads platform, Business Manager, campaign types, etc., ideally with Blueprint certifications
● Deep understanding of Google & Microsoft Ads platforms, campaign types, etc., ideally with Google Ads certifications
● Experience optimizing paid search campaigns against multiple metrics
● Strong team management skills and interpersonal communication
● Ability to collaborate and manage teams with strong leadership skills and with a team player mentality
● Knowledge of ad serving, tagging, and media billing tools
● Excellent verbal and written skills; exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and attention to detail
