The Qumata model uses data to calculate the risk of diagnosis for over 800 conditions, along with Extra Mortalities and Morbidities. You will help us revolutionise this industry with a range of clients and partners from small to top-tier Insurers, re-insurers, and MGAs in Europe and APAC.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing company as a backend engineer. You will be able to help shape the future of our product, whilst working closely with our cross functional teams and the Tech Lead.

Responsibilities will include, not be limited to:

 

  • Write a well-designed, testable (and well tested), secure code

  • Design and implement features of our services for both internal and external clients

  • Document and maintain backend functionality (API, reports, Celery jobs, ...)

  • Maintain solid test coverage and work closely with QA Engineers

  • Deploy our services to AWS together with Devops Engineers

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Strong experience with backend REST API Python framework (ideally FastAPI)

  • Strong experience with test-driven development (ideally unittest or pytest)

  • Experience with web development (React.js) or even mobile development (React Native) optional, but welcome

  • You're delivery focussed, able to take ownership and self organise

  • A constant learner - reading and absorbing ideas/information

  • Commercial exposure of end to end full software development life cycle

  • Working with Git (ideally Gitlab) with CI/CD experience
