Would you like to work with scaling up data collection and usage in a truly data-driven company? Do you like to see the impact of your contributions? We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us in building our event tracking and streaming analytics!

Wolt has been growing substantially in the past years and this growth has posed new challenges when working with telemetry data from our applications; the number of use cases around it has grown and its complexity in terms of dimensions and ingestion rate is bigger than ever! We are in an exciting phase, looking for someone to take ownership of our client event tracking from the point of collection to building a streaming ingestion pipeline that gives us the ability to observe user's session activity in real-time and finally making sure we have highly usable, performant and tested derived & aggregated datasets for analytics.

You would be joining our growing DataOps team, where you will have Data Engineers working together with you. In addition to your team, you will be working closely together with our other internal development and data engineering teams. You will have an important role in ensuring that our data capture processes are designed, developed and actively maintained and the data pipelines used for collecting telemetry data are kept up to date and monitored. You’ll also make sure that derived datasets are built safely and that a data model is in place, covering the datasets and ensuring their usefulness. And to validate the quality of the captured data you’ll also contribute to designing and implementing system testing and integrations. 

The team welcomes a new member to the Helsinki HQ or working entirely remotely elsewhere in Finland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden or Estonia now and in the future! 

This is a new role at Wolt and we already know that these are no small boots you would be filling. You will have room to take ownership and responsibility and envision for the future of our event tracking. Working in this team means putting both your technical and interpersonal skills into action. Our data platform is mainly built with Python, so you should have prior experience working with it. In addition, hands-on experience with complex SQL queries and data modeling will be needed. Experience working with Kafka, Spark or Flink will be considered as an asset. Our services are running on AWS with Kubernetes and in addition, we work with Airflow, Postgres, MongoDB and Snowflake. 

Helping out other product teams is at the core of this role, so good collaboration and communication skills will be needed. Having a genuine desire for wanting to make data work better for all ensures that you’ll enjoy the role as well. 

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
