Job Description

What you'll be doing:


Working within the Books Division, in the Lifelong Learning marketing team, you’ll play a key role in developing audiences across your assigned industry sectors, managing a range of digital marketing channels but with a particular focus on paid social engagement.

You will seek to develop sales opportunities for our content to individual professional audiences, as well as to corporate organizations and as such this role will cover both B2C and B2B activity.

You’ll be responsible for planning, implementing and reporting on paid advertising through Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms to promote books and free content that bring visitors to our e-commerce site that convert into purchases, leads and opt-ins. This includes acting as a ‘champion’ and establishing best practices within the team, providing training and guidance to ensure colleagues are successful.  You will also work to align our paid social activities with owned and earned media and have the opportunity to work in other marketing channels and develop new skills.

Responsibilities will also include the creation and execution of quarterly marketing plans that incorporate paid social, PPC, content marketing, and email campaigns that drive engagement and achieve revenue goals.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Already a marketing professional, you’ve got experience managing budgets and running successful paid advertising campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.  What else do you need? 

  • Demonstratable experience and understanding of paid social media buying platforms
  • Demonstratable experience of conversion rate optimisation, generating ecommerce sales
  • A background in creating 360 degree digital marketing campaigns in a retail environment
  • An analytical approach to reporting on marketing campaign results so that plans and tactics can be developed and improved 
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to provide clear guidance and support to others so best practice can be easily understood and achieved and to collaborate confidently with a range of internal stakeholders
  • The willingness to leverage the skills and interests of co-workers and work in a team to achieve goals and solve problems     
  • A track record of working autonomously and removing obstacles that prevent progress being made towards objectives 
  • The flexibility to work in new areas and develop new skills to support business growth
  • Excellent time management skills; experience of working to deadlines
  • Knowledge and ability with IT systems, including core MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Power Point), web/cloud based databases, CMS, email creation platforms and/or other bespoke IT systems
