Job Description

Internal Tax Compliance & Planning Associate

Contract

Location: Remote

Availability: ASAP

Employment Type: Contractor

We’re looking for an efficient Internal Tax Compliance & Planning Associate to join our team. You will work closely with our management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax Planning (job 1)
  • Tax Filings
  • Expense reports
  • Profit-and-loss statements
  • Cost reduction proposals
  • Payroll Audit. Compliance proposals, tax strategies, planning.
  • Internal audits for policy adherence
  • Internal audits for tax codes
  • Presenting budgets and reports to upper management
  • Account reconciliations
  • Bank and credit card account reconciliations
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable with Bank/Credit Card Statements
  • Review employee expense reports for proper classification and payment
  • Audit and statutory support:
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reviews and annual audit
  • Reporting and account analysis:
  • Assist with balance sheet and P&L reports
  • Preparation of month end financial package
  • Other ad-hoc projects as necessary
  • Ad hoc reconciliations on a daily basis and when needed

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Former IRS Auditor Preferred

or;

  • 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, and;
  • Must be a wiz with tax planning, not just filings, and;
  • Professional references, and;
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and;
  • Experience with QuickBooks, and;
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes

Additional Information

Terms:

This is a 30-day assignment/contract.

Salary is negotiable. We’ll base it upon experience and past results. We are not looking for an entry level accountant. Must be a tax planner with 5+ years of planning, auditing and knowledge of tax laws.
