About the Role:
As VP of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, you will design, develop, and lead Ophelia’s nascent business development department. Your overarching objective is to help Ophelia forge value-accretive partnerships, with the combined goals of (a) revenue growth, (b) patient & clinician acquisition, and (c) clinical service expansion. You will set strategic priorities, spearhead high-value partnerships, and lead a team of analysts, sales reps, and operators.
In this role, you will work closely with Ophelia’s CEO to (1) define our universe prospective partners, (2) create a go-to-market plan, and (3) develop and manage a team to execute on your strategy. Broadly speaking, your goal is to catalyze Ophelia’s transition from a D2C-only player into a mature and integrated healthcare provider, accelerating (a) growth and (b) reimbursement en route to national expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and own Ophelia’s partnership strategy, including (1) a survey of opportunities, (2) corresponding business cases, and (3) a go-to-market plan with associated resource & staffing needs
- Lead high-value partnerships from initial pitch to close with large organizations, e.g. employers, provider groups, and health systems
- Develop & manage a team of analysts, sales reps, and relationship managers, driving high-volume outreach, follow-up, and execution
- Oversee the development of partner-specific collateral, including value props, contract structure, and ROI metrics
- Draft & negotiate partnership contracts, balancing (1) contract value with (2) long-term flexibility and (3) operational feasibility
- Play a key role in Ophelia’s leadership team, collaborating cross-departmentally to ensure strategic and operational alignment across the organization
About You:
- 7+ years of experience in business development & partnerships in healthcare services
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing, negotiating, and executing contracts with Fortune 500 companies
- Deep understanding of the provider & payor ecosystem
- Experience building, developing, and managing teams, preferably at a high-growth healthcare startup
- Entrepreneurially-minded, excited by “sales,” and comfortable with autonomy
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Bonus: experience with innovative payment models or value-based care
- Bonus: experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment
