We are seeking an experienced Global Payroll Specialist to join our growing HR Operations team.
In this newly created position you will be responsible for payroll for our offices around the globe and across all of our brands. You're excited by and responsible for the implementation of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology and supporting discovery sessions with key partners. You’ll act as the main point of contact for both employees and external vendors regarding payroll issues. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, HR Operations. We are considering remote candidates based in the United States for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. Qualifications
About The Role
In this role you will:
- Administer day-to-day global payroll operations for US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil & India locations.
- Implement and maintain payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Process and ensure compliance with our Expat program
- Ensures compliance with country, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws as well as ensuring SOX compliance.
- Build strong partnerships to ensure successful collaborations within the People team and other partnering teams providing expertise on payroll matters.
- Actively identify process improvement opportunities to better use technology and ensure accuracy, efficiency and data integrity between our HRIS (Workday) and all third party carriers.
- Support annual filing requirements and any audits.
- Act as lead point of contact for all payroll related inquiries.
- Be a key participant in streamlining our payroll systems and processes.
- Support the implementation of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology, and supporting discovery sessions with key partners.

About You
Ideally you'll bring:
- A minimum of 4-6 years of global payroll experience
- A proven understanding of payroll processes and state, local and country laws pertaining to payroll and payroll tax administration
- Working knowledge and experience of processing Expat payrolls
- Experience scaling payroll systems and procedures for a fast-growing global organization
- Workday experience required
- Experience with Safeguard, or supporting a global payroll implementation
- Experience working in a Public Company and Sox Compliance.
- Proficiency with data analysis and Microsoft Excel & Google sheets
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, is flexible, collaborative and deadline driven.
- Languages: Portuguese and/or Spanish a plus
