Job Description

What You Get to Do:

Make Leapgen and our customers look and feel better! The Visual Designer is responsible for designing artifacts and assets like presentations, infographics and other cool ways to tell a visual story to our clients. To be successful and have fun in this role, you should be a creative designer who is able to collaborate with other Leapers to capture the essence of what they are trying to communicate to our clients . At times you will work directly with our customers to provide coaching and guidance on visual design projects they are working on.

The Day-to-Day Stuff:

  • Work with other team members to synthesize research outcomes into compelling insights that motivate action, particularly through the creation of visual artifacts such as personas and journey maps (both present-state and future-oriented), presentations and wireframes

  • Build out and refine deliverables, tools & templates with guidance from the company's Services team members; create compelling visual assets, including presentations, infographics, logos, etc. 

  • Rapidly ideate, prototype and validate solutions to customer needs alongside both Leapgen and client team members. This often involves producing artifacts such as wireframes, sketches and prototypes at a range of fidelities

Looking to grow into an employee experience consultant? This role has been crafted to support the Leapgen team but will have intentional opportunities to join the consulting staff on workforce experience transformation projects.

The Growth Opportunities:

  • Collaborate with Leapgen Consultants in planning, running and facilitating workshops, customer research and participatory design activities with clients and stakeholders

  • Make recommendations on how best to improve experiences (e.g., streamline processes, change the interaction model, modify information architecture) and recommend how to measure effectiveness (and iterate, where appropriate)

Qualifications

This Should Describe You:

  • Must-Haves qualifications:

    • Well versed in visual design principles and methodologies

    • Experience using design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Figma, InVision etc.)

    • Proficiency in Google Slides and/or Powerpoint 

    • Passion for solving problems

    • Ability to show examples of work (e.g., Case studies, portfolio, website)

    • Can collaborate with others to tell stories using both verbal and written communication skills.

  • Nice-to-Haves:

    • HR and/or IT domain knowledge helps

    • Background in Human-Centered-Design methodologies

    • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture constructs - this is serious gravy

    • Proficiency developing process flows (e.g., LucidChart, Visio) preferred

Additional Information

Education:

  • Some designers have formal degrees and others do not, we would love to hear about your learning journey

  • Certificate in Design with a focus on UX is also awesome!

Work Type:

  • Contract Part-Time (24-30 hours per week) or Full-time Employee;  we can explore the right arrangement for all

Location and Travel:

  • Remote (but in the continental US or Canada); we're a virtual company!

  • Travel - 10-15% (post-Covid)
