An Experian Health Database Administrator (DBA) is involved in the performance, integrity, and security of mission critical healthcare databases. This involves daily monitoring, planning, tuning, and troubleshooting of database systems. In addition, you will be working with various development teams to ensure database code is performant, scalable, and meets security best practices.
Job Duties:
1. Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
2. Manage database access.
3. Develop processes for optimizing database security.
4. Set and maintain database coding standards; perform weekly code reviews.
5. Performance tuning of database systems, including ensuring proper indexes and statistics are in place.
6. Working knowledge of WFC (Windows Failover Cluster) and MSSQL Always-On configurations.
7. Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues.
8. Install, upgrade, manage and migrate database systems to ensure security compliance and to meet Technology Lifecycle Management Policies (TLMP) requirements .
9. Recommend and implement various database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MySQL)
10. Create and manage database reports & ETL processes.
11. Create automation for repeating database tasks.
12. Build HA/DR plans related to database systems.
13. Deploy & manage backup jobs.
14. Restore/recover data as requested.
15. Participate in on-call activities to support database systems 24/7/365.
