Company Description

Pingboard is searching for a Product Designer! This new role reports to the VP of Product and works closely with the Senior Product Designer and rest of the Product & Engineering team to deliver value and solve problems for our outstanding customers. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, UX-focused product designer who loves building well-crafted software for the workplace alongside a talented, friendly team. 

Pingboard connects, celebrates, empowers, and aligns employees at growing companies. Our close-knit, quirky team of 31 is passionate about increasing trust & transparency at outstanding organizations around the world.

We work in 6-week seasons (not 2-week sprints) and empower engineering teams through fixed-time, variable-scope projects free from interruptions. Our goal is to thoroughly understand customer pain points and collaboratively craft innovative solutions. 

Job Description

You’re excited about this role because you’ll:

  • Solve complex UX challenges for web and mobile

  • Design features, prototypes, and workflows to define what’s next

  • Grow as a designer in a collaborative environment 

  • Deeply understand and advocate for customers 

  • Conduct usability tests and user interviews

  • Work with the engineering team to build and ship work each season

  • Communicate frequently and effectively across the company, including presentations and demos

Qualifications

You’ll thrive as a Product Designer at Pingboard if you:

  • Have 3+ years product design experience solving complex problems and can proudly demonstrate that work and your process to us

  • Possess strong product design and UX skills and a passion for delighting users

  • Are as comfortable working in HTML/CSS as in Sketch or Figma

  • Are driven to understand customer needs and use that to inform your work

  • Enjoy sharing knowledge, explaining decisions, and incorporating feedback

  • Are great at interviewing users and doing usability tests 

  • Have impeccable design sense and clear views on user-centered design

  • Are passionate about asynchronous, remote-first work and excel at it

  • Are proactive and self-sufficient

  • Are a clear and engaging writer 

  • Are passionate about building great tools for the workplace and helping employees and companies be successful
