Job Description

As a Product Manager supporting our sellers, you will be responsible for making Etsy the best place for our sellers to grow their business and connect with their customers. In this role, you’ll work on opportunities to help sellers increase their sales and deliver top-notch experiences to their buyers, alongside addressing pain points in their daily shop management. You will work cross functionally with engineering, design, research, marketing, and analytics to deliver exceptional products, features and experiences that empower the growth of the millions of creative businesses on our platform. You will solve complex consumer-facing or business problems, develop strategies and roadmaps, work with stakeholders and execute those plans to build sustained value for our business and our customers. 

Here’s a taste of some of the problems we’re solving today:

  • How can we make our selling platform more intuitive and easy to use for our sellers? What are some of the biggest pain points for sellers as they grow their business and manage their inventory, orders and customer relationships?
  • How can we create more opportunities for sellers to connect with potential and existing customers to grow their sales? How can we help sellers increase their conversion rate, order value or traffic to their shop based on buyer insights and ecommerce trends? 
  • How can we help sellers better understand how their business is performing and provide them with relevant and personalized insights that deliver results? 

About the role:

  • You’ll develop and own a product strategy that is clearly articulated, easily understood, and delivers meaningful value to our customers and business.
  • You will be responsible for developing the roadmap and prioritizing product features, through continuous iteration and experimentation.
  • You’ll lead a cross-functional team in crafting value for Etsy’s sellers, and often buyers.
  • Through rigorous user research and analysis, you’ll explore, ideate, validate, and build products that are strategically aligned with our business goals.
  • You will work closely and with top-notch designers, user research experts, data analysts, engineers and data scientists to create immersive and business driving experiences.
  • Own accountability for the performance of key products in our seller platform, including impact to the business and our customers.

We are considering remote candidates based in the United States for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Excited and passionate about solving small business problems, developing strategies and roadmaps, and executing those plans to bring value to our business and customers.
  • Experienced with using qualitative and quantitative data (especially from A/B tests) to make product decisions. You also know when and how to balance data with intuition.
  • Inspiring, engaging and clear communication style; optimistic and forward-looking
  • Natural collaborator who knows how to drive decision-making with Engineering, Product Design, Analytics, and Research partners.
  • Experience working in a marketplace or with third-party partnerships as a plus
  • A passionate member of the Etsy community and someone who believes in Etsy’s vision, mission and values.
  • Bonus: Experienced in working with creative entrepreneurs or on a two-sided marketplace.
