Sports Journalist Internship

Man Of The Hour is the quintessential reference for emerging generations of men. From business to politics, society to style, entertainment to relationships, the magazine takes a contemporary approach to life that appeals to a diverse readership.

By encompassing an infusion of traditional and modern perspectives with sophisticated well-balanced editorial content and insightful commentary, the magazine intrigues, identifies with and informs its audience by exemplifying the image of today's male—establishing both tradition and trend.

The Sports Journalist will cover all sports-related content that identifies and relates to Man of the Hour’s target demographic. 

The candidate must possess an ability to cover a wide variety of sports beyond just the three or four that are most commonly featured. 

The candidate must be adept at covering in the game as much as what happens behind the scenes. 

The candidate must possess the ability to provide an industry analysis as it relates to individual sports. 

The candidate must possess the ability to provide both historical analysis and define future trends in sports.

Responsibilities:  

Digital

• Write a bi-weekly column covering topics that focus on what happens on and off the court/field that would be of interest to our readers. 

Magazine

• Write one sports feature for the bi-annual magazine.

Duration: 6 months

This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience. 

Official Start Date: ASAP

Preferably applicants should be a college undergraduate or graduate studying journalism or English (or a related field) and have prior writing/reporting experience with your school newspaper or another publication. All internships last for 6 months or longer (negotiable). Recent college graduates or dedicated writers/bloggers are also welcome to apply.

Note: Metro New York, Los Angeles & San Francisco residents strongly encouraged to apply, but location not required.
