Opportunity summary  

The client is one of the largest energy suppliers in Germany and Europe and provides electricity, gas, water and energy-related services and products. Their goal is to make sustainable resources easier available for people and to promote an environment friendly attitude in order to contribute to a better future.  

They also provide the largest charging network for electric cars and the necessary tools to manage the stations and the payments.  

Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a cross-functional, multi-cultural and multi-site team. As a member of the team, you will be a key player in developing new features for their e-mobility and energy management tools, having the chance to gather knowledge about a rich technological context, around Azure and AWS, including the e-mobility and energy business area.  

About the project

The scope of the main project is related to e-mobility and energy management. Some of the goals of the project is to provide new functionalities to the billing systems of the charging stations, to facilitate the further processing of the charging station data, to  implement the regulatory requirements and to provide special offers according to the charging behavior to the respective end customers. 

Team 

You will have the opportunity to be part of a big team and to work on tasks that require the development of new features, using the agile methodologies. Moreover, the team has always the latest technology stacks around Azure and AWS at hand.  

Daily responsibilities:

• Develop solution features following development best practices 

• Evaluate, assess, and recommend robust software solutions for assigned tasks 

• Take part in technical alignment meetings with other teams and make sure that the overall technical approach is respected

• Deliver high-quality code ensuring that the code fulfills the requirements, is well written, performant, and well tested 

• Perform code reviews and unit testing

• Identify properly the components of the application and infrastructure in the domain  

• Complete the assigned task within the agreed estimation

• Raise technical risks 

• Identify areas of improvement in existing programs and subsequently refactoring 

• Continue to learn and hone required skills as a software engineer 

Communication:

• Work closely with other software engineers and client

• Respect the agreements towards the team or client 

• Maintain communication regarding the progress of work and provide status updates 

• Great communication skills in spoken and written English 

• German is not a must, but nice to have 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development (Java & Angular)
• Hands-on experience writing Java applications, including (but not limited to) Spring Boot, Spring Data, Query DSL, MongoDB
• Proficient understanding and autonomy in using the following frontend technologies: Angular 8+, Typescript, RXJS, NGRX, Jest, NX
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services

Should understand the following technologies/tools, it is not absolutely required, but it’s nice to have:
